Description

Overview of the National Standards for Residential Services for Children and Adults with Disabilities (HIQA, 2013)
 
This programme provides an overview of the national standards and regulations for designated centres for Adults and Children with a disability. The course will equip nurses with the knowledge of these standards and regulations as well as the different types of inspections carried out and how inspectors make judgments about compliance. This knowledge will assist nurses in implementing standards and regulations and prepare for inspections.
 
Introduction to the role and functions of the Health Information and Quality Authority:
 
Inspection Process and Assessment Framework
 
Overview of the Regulations and National Standards for Designated Centres:
Adults and Children with Disabilities
 
Judgement Frameworks for Designated Centres: Adults and Children with Disabilities.
 
Note:  On completion of this course a certificate of attendance in a digital form and will be sent by email to each participant.  Please note places are limited and must be booked in advance; you need a reliable computer and internet access and please ensure a correct email is provided when registering.
