Description

This programme outlines the legal and professional requirements for end of life care in designated centres and identifies how to apply this to practice, so as to provide effective, evidence-based care to residents. Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA) standards, regulations and guidance will be used to prepare participants for thematic inspections. Participants will be shown how nursing assessments and care planning must take into account national policy initiatives that focus on the concept of advanced care planning for end of life care, so as to enable residents to live well throughout their end of life journey.
